The privacy policy of the NavigateCancer Foundation (“NCF”) informs you about how we safeguard and protect your confidentiality during all aspects of the service. This privacy statement covers the services of www.navigatecancerfoundation.org. The foundation is committed to protecting your personal information and has incorporated extensive procedures and policies to ensure this protection.

How We Protect Your Personal Information

The information you provide is strictly voluntary. To protect you, we do not request nor will we allow you to submit your social security number, birth date, health insurance numbers or any information which can uniquely identify you.

The information we collect is for the sole use of helping to navigate your cancer issue. There are only seven pieces of information on the health profile that is required before your question can be answered. The seven questions necessary to complete are age, gender and a few questions relating to the pending or actual cancer diagnosis. The remaining questions on the profile are not mandatory but the more complete the profile is, the better our team will be able to help you.

To register with the NCF, you will create your own login and password. This ensures your confidentiality- only you can access your account. All communication is done within your account.

Your health profile is maintained inside your personal account and is viewed by no one other than you. Communicating with a NCF Navigator will only be done within your account.

E-mails will not contain health information. E-mails will be sent to you notifying you that your account has been updated- that your questions have been answered. You will then be instructed to login to your account for the answer.
 
You are able to modify, update or correct your information at any time once you are logged in and on your personal page.
 
If you cannot recall your login or password, we will direct you to a web page that will help provide you with a reminder or an opportunity to reset your account. Passwords will not be emailed to you.
 
We do not communicate with any other interested parties (your doctor, your spouse, child, etc.) We only communicate directly with you. It is possible that your spouse can register and create an account and we will communicate directly with your spouse in that manner. The exception will be telephone consultations. With the permission of the patient, we will communicate with all interested parties at the same time during a telephone consultation.
 
Information by “E-mail”

E-mail by its very nature is not secure. E-mail can be intercepted. Copies of e-mails may be stored on the computer that you are working from. Work e-mail is owned and monitored by the business. Therefore, please do not send any personal information by e-mail that you would be uncomfortable sharing with others. Please use our account management system via your personal login to access your private home page where all of your communications will be housed.

Changing or Removing Information

You can update your health profile at any time. You can do this by accessing your account and clicking on the “update” button. The health profile will be updated instantly.

If you wish to delete the health profile you can do so by clicking on the delete button. The health profile will be removed immediately. However, you understand and acknowledge that even after removal; copies may remain in archived pages for some time but will not be generally available to the NCF staff.
 
Third Party Interests

We do not sell, rent, lease, lend, share or otherwise distribute any information to any third party. We do not share information with any party except the account holder.

Cookies

There is information gathered from all visitors to the NCF website. The foundation may collect your browser type and IP address. In addition we may store specific, limited information from your browser using a “cookie”. We may use cookies to store your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login each time you visit the NCF website. You can remove or block this cookie using the settings in your browser if you want to disable this convenience feature.

Donor Information

Donations transmitted through our website are secure. The NavigateCancer Foundation website uses secure SSL certificates issued by Thawte. Donations made to the NavigateCancer Foundation are transmitted using the same safe and secure 128-bit encryption you would find in any reputable e-Commerce site and is powered by PaySimple (www.paysimple.com).

When you access our site using Netscape Navigator 6.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.5 or higher, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects your information using both server authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure, and available only to you and qualified NCF staff members. Your unique NavigateCancerFoundation.org username and password that must be entered each time you log on ensures your privacy and security – do not share this information with anyone.
